Alistair isn't as alphahole-y as some of the author's other heroes. But unassuming Jessamine cockblocks him without even trying, forcing him to plainly state what he wants from her: 'I want your body.' And she's like, 'What for?' LOLAlistair's characterization is another reason this is Stuart lite. Alistair thinks he's being all seductive and charming. My favorite scene by far has to be Alistair (H) and Jessamine's (h) first solo scene together. And of course, the cynical alpha hero who only does women-not emotions-and the ordinary heroine whom he finds extraordinary. One of the reasons I enjoyed this romance so much was because of the lighthearted tone. There's the sparkling chemistry, witty dialogue, fast-paced plot and a secondary, yet equally compelling romance. My favorite scene by far has to be Alistair (H) and Jessamin 3.5 'Classic Anne Stuart' StarsThis Georgian historical romance typifies Anne Stuart's best writing in many ways.
